more Halifax

Apparently (according to conference goers and the national news) the storm systems in the US northeast extended to Nova Scotia and a spectacular, rarely-seen display of lightening last night, but I slept through it.

I learned a strange assortment of things today, from various opinions on managing fish stocks, to how to monitor marine security, to things about algal biofuels and tidal power. None of this was particularly related to my own research interests, but it's good to keep tabs on ocean science in a general way. It's also good to have a nice walk in the sunshine.

Tonight we went to a gala dinner, which was rather night. Tomorrow, it's workshop time, so it's time for bed.
